Death
Having confessed my sins to what I hold divine and having honored the laws of humankind surely my dying days can be days of prayerful meditation with peace of heart, mind and body.
When pain overwhelms, surely the alleviation of unnecessary suffering with full consent of legal and medical opinion is a respectful way to honor death.
With the wonders of drugs natural and synthetic no one need die in terror of pain. Such inner terrorism must be outlawed in the name of justice.
A peaceful death, consciously dying is a human right.
Those who hold that suffering is an end in itself and who want to consciously suffer according to religious tradition must be allowed their practice. There is always room for saints. Conscious suffering offered up in prayer is good.
