Personal Message September 11, 2013
Our Prayer: A World Without War by 2050, The Age of Peace.
Our Question: Law or War, in which do we place our trust?
Our Answer: Justice the Answer to War.
Our Plea: We can say it no more clearly; the time is upon us to decide if we are to avoid the catastrophe that menaces our great-great grandchildren’s future. I pray we are wrong, but as I read the tea leaves, the current path of human development will end with the beginning of the Age of Catastrophe. It is an event horizon just over the horizon of the foreseeable future. I know in my heart others see this as well.
Our Intent: The Innocent standing as One to put the god of war to rest that the goddess of justice might stand. The sword in her hand, not his.
Our Goal: The Age of Peace ... it can be done if enough of us want it.
The Age of Peace
Let us be realistic. The Age of Peace, the alternative to the Age of Catastrophe that is to befall us on current course will not be a utopian age. Evil and our capacity for sin will always be with us, these elements of the human soul an essential sign of our humanity.
But it can be an age without and beyond war in which freeman and freewoman are equal under the law and constitution in all lands. A Magna Carta for humanity, the Global Charter offered herein to begin that discussion. There will be no global consciousness needed to make this happen unless we begin the conversation.
Bottom Line
The bottom line is this: Global laws will keep us safe from global crimes against humanity. All other crimes should be handled by local law. In time, there would be a synchronization of global legal development such that all crimes, everywhere meet the same standards. Rape is rape. But such is a long way off, the result of integration and interconnectedness in ways that we cannot yet foresee making everyone everywhere neighbors.
States Right Issues
Of course, in a global legal culture there will be states’ and peoples’ rights issues. In thinking of these things we must remember to be aware of the necessary tension between the singular and the absolute, the individual and the whole, the atom and the universe, and the individual and the global. This polarity is a law of nature, this tension fundamental to life as we know it. It’s how we manage the tension that makes all the difference.
There is risk as there always is with change. But the risk of doing nothing is riskier. Things may look dark at times, I think of Egypt in these times, so we must be brave and have faith in love to guide the justice that becomes law. These things take time.
Big Push: To bring about a global civilization in a timely manner to avoid the catastrophe ahead, a big push from below is needed. Global legal development is already underway … 2017 a big leap forward … let’s get behind it. What this emerging global development in law needs is a big push from the ground up. I am sending this message out to the universe and either it will be heard, or it will not. I live in the hope and kneel in prayer that a critical mass of us will band together in time to prevent the Age of Catastrophe.
World of Nations
What is called herein, the “World of Nations by 2020”, traces the story of the events of war since 9/11 as seen through my consciousness. Within are ideas about what we all can do to construct a humanity ruled by law and not war. The end of the story could go down in history as “near miss” as the Titanic of history avoids her present fate.
Only Solution and Our Faith
The only solution to our times that leads us away from war is law. The U.S. Military Academy at West Point has a Center for the Rule of Law. Somewhere in our military there are visionaries who see the dark times ahead and understand there is another way. Military planners on all sides must be at the table in the conversation. Law, it might have to be military law at first in some places to make people safe and stop the killing of the innocent.
Our faith is grounded in love.
Business Plan
To put the whole deal in business lingo, The World of Nations is a product of Global Human Development, Inc., and global law is its product. The World of Nations is looking for backers to make the dream of peace on earth come true: A planet Earth freed from the evil of war. It can be done. To repeat: It is a matter of a critical mass in collective imagination which will stir the energy into global action. And a lot of money. Peace will not be cheap. But when peace prevails, as history has shown, this money will have been a great investment for posterity. Except for the few, peace is good for business.
The Peace and Justice Movement
Peace and justice groups around the globe; I beg you to unite around one vision: a world without war.
Vision: Beyond a World of Nations imagine the next step in legal development, a World of Peoples, a humanity totally free from the terror of war.
United in Love, we can make this happen.
Caveat: I tell my story through the tradition of Love as is taught in the Roman Catholic tradition. This is an accident of my history, and a choice I embrace. That you might feel embraced as well, no matter what your religious belief (or lack thereof), let it be known that my most deeply held belief on the matter of love is that Love (as in God is Love) is universal. Love belongs to no one, no one church, no one anything. Love is in everything and through everything. Love perfects our human nature, the absolute background of Being. Love is the prism through which all human action must be filtered if justice is to prevail.
Post Script: That President Obama is choosing to put the matter of war with Syria, before “we the people” a step in the right direction, and his agreeing to work with the international community even in matters as egregious as chemical weapons abuse also a significant step in the right direction. Might it be that humanity tired of war wants to find another way to resolve conflict?
